When I ask Murphy what birthday party theme she wants she says something random that comes to mind but she really doesn’t care. She just wants to do whatever Tennyson does. When I ask Tennyson what birthday party theme he wants he says something different every time but they are always complicated. The latest was “rainbow, butterfly, monster truck party”…. so I just picked the theme I wanted to decorate for and when I told the kids about it they loved it 🌈
I think this will be the last year I can get away with a combined birthday party for Tennyson and Murphy. At least for the next couple of years. They attend preschool together so they have the same friends. But starting this fall Tennyson will be in kindergarten so their friend groups will evolve.
Last year we did a tie dye activity for the first time and everyone seemed to love it so we brought it back again this year. The kids grow so fast they need a new sized shirt each year anyway! We have officially making this a summer tradition.
Thank you to all of our friends who came and for Jojo who flew up from California for 24 hours!
Happy birthday kiddos 🙂
TREATS: Marshmallows dipped in sprinkles by Tenny and me. Rainbow cupcakes and sunshine macaroons by Christine. And individually wrapped (then unwrapped) rice kripsy treats from Costco.
Tennyson had a #5 balloon but he hugged it a little too hard and it deflated right before we took pictures.
Behind the scenes prep
I know Lucas loves me when he spends an evening blowing up balloons for decorations he doesn’t think are necessary but he knows they are fun for me.
