Mother’s Day Lilac Garden

Posted on

Thanks to a tip from a friend, I learned about a lilac garden in Washington, about 45 minutes north of where we live. I didn’t learn about this farm until half way through it’s bloom season, then we were out of town for 2 weeks, so we went on the last day it was open. It was beautiful while we were there (once blooms started to fade), I can only imagine how amazing it looked at it’s peak!

Tennyson is 22 months old (2 in early July) & I’m 31 weeks pregnant with baby girl

Me: “Say cheese!” – – Tenny: “No cheese!”

The garden cost $5/person over 6 years old to enter. The house is a museum of sorts but it was closed due to covid restrictions. Other than a relaxing, beautiful stroll through this garden, people come here to purchase plants. I hope we have a lilac tree someday!

If you’re already in the area, it’s worth your time to drive 3 minutes away to the Holland America Flower Garden to see tulips. Tulips bloom before lilacs so if you want to see both you should go at the beginning of lilac season. The tulip show fields were already closed for the season when we were there so the boys stayed in the car and I ran out to see what was left. I was surprised to see a few varieties of tulips that I’d never seen before!
