When we first moved in to our own apartment as a married couple (right before starting our senior year of college) we basically just merged our single college life stuff into a small basement apartment down the street from where I’d lived before so it didn’t feel like a first move for us. Other than living completely on our own (no other roommates) everything else in our life stayed the same. When graduation came along we packed everything we owned into a 6ft x 8ft x 7ft U-Pack pod and it finally felt like our first move together. I’m still amazed at how much stuff we fit into that cube! Two full couches, 3 wing back chairs, queen bed, 3 dining table chairs, microwave/other kitchen appliances, plus a lot of clothes/shoes, books, sewing machine/supplies, etc. The pod was great because we filled it up, it was picked up from the company and when we arrived in Portland a month later the pod was ready for us in front of our new apartment.
Almost done…
The end result : )
We spent a few hours scrubbing the apartment then said goodbye to our first little home together. Next stop: Zion National Park on our scenic route to California before officially moving to Portland.
