The reason Lucas and I are in Peru is for a research project. Lucas has been working with the head of BYU’s Political Science department and a few other students to design and now implement a study on the transparency of the Peruvian government and how the locals feel about it. These are pictures of the second location, but the team is now on their third spot in the city where they are taking surveys. Here we are at El Centro (downtown Lima) where there are streets lined with stores, banks and loads of people. Since the team consists of only Americans, they hired local young adults to administer the surveys. It is nice to meet kind, down to earth, hardworking people outside of your own country. Reinforces my faith in humanity.
Check-in, hand out tablets, and assign surveys.
This guy has a great voice. There was also an amazing flutist.
The survey work has gone quickly so tomorrow might be the last day. Whoo hoo! This means we have more exploring time. We can’t wait to see the rest of the city.
