It seems like every time I go to SF it is for a super short time. Either a long day or maybe just 1 night. This trip was just like usual. While home for Christmas, Lucas and I snuck away to SF and Tennyson stayed with his grandparents. This was my first night away from the baby. Ever. In 6 months. Lucas has traveled for several work trips since baby was born so being away for a night wasn’t a novelty to him. For me, it was like a mini vacation!
We’ve been to the city so many times, yet there were a few touristy things we had never done before. We made sure to cross off a few of them this time. First stop…. Twin Peaks. The best view of (almost) the entire city. The city is too big to see the entire thing from anywhere other than the sky, but this is probably the next best option!
Next stop the Painted Ladies. I LOVED the show Full House when I was a kid. Also, I’ve loved SF for as long as I can remember. Somehow I didn’t put the two together until and embarrassingly old age… But we’re here now ha!
So. Bright. Worst time to lose your sunglasses.
We only scheduled two things for our whirlwind SF trip. I made reservations for us to get a massages/hammams and I knew we had to get to The View lounge by 4 PM or we wouldn’t get a good seat. The View is a cocktail bar at the top of a Marriott hotel with the coolest round, clock-looking windows and yummy butternut squash mac & cheese. The place takes up an entire floor of the building and the elevators wont let you go there until 4 PM exactly. We got to the elevator lobby at 3:57 PM and went up with the first group. Even then, we got the last window table, one in the far corner. The view was even better than I expected because we got there right as sunset started.
We tend to binge play games we like. This quick trip was full of this travel-size Blokus game. You can play it anywhere!
Next morning… brunch, 16th avenue steps, then stopped bay area traffic.
