Summer in the Portland area is unbeatable. The winter is long and wet but once the sun comes out everyone forgets about winter and remembers why this is the best place to be!

My personal favorite summer activity is berry picking. Every month something new is in season and there are dozens of farms where you can pick the fruit yourself and just pay per pound!
Hoffman Farms is one of our favorites. They provide the buckets for berry picking and have a store with the most delicious fresh berry milkshakes and baked goods. If you don’t have time to pick berries you can just stop by the shop… the milkshakes are worth the drive.
I didn’t think through how strawberry picking would entail lots of squats up and down… doing this at 36 weeks pregnant wasn’t my best idea. But it was still fun! I just didn’t pick as many berries as Lucas or anyone else did : )
I’ve been craving crepes more than usual lately. We made some with our freshly picked strawberries and they were SO YUMMY. I’m not feeling up to picking any more berries but I’m going to drive to the farm this week to pick up some pre-picked berries just so we can make some strawberry crepes again!
