One of my favorite parts of living in the Portland area is being so close to a variety of u-pick farms. Every season there is something different to pick! I day dreamed about starting a lavender farm until I learned the area already has about a dozen of them. For now I’ll just have to be an admirer. My friend Christine and I decided to go to Mountainside Lavender and are so glad we did. This farm is small and charming. They have a little store on site where they sell lavender oil, lemonade, and other products they make. Also, a bundle (“as much as you can fit one hand around”) of picked lavender is only $6. They provide the baskets, scissors and ties to wrap the bundles when you’re done. Can’t wait to go back!
